Basic 850: An Online Wordbook
25 April, 2005
  Knowledge
is one of the 400 words for general things.

"Condition of having knowledge" is an expansion from the root sense of this word (Ogden, The Basic Words).
One of the old but noted sayings about it is this: "Knowledge is power."

Richards and Gibson said, "Knowledge gives us light. It makes things clearer to us"
(English through Pictures, Book 2. 151).
